“In order to learn from each other and to inspire others we enjoy working together with parties who can think about creative and sustainable solutions to problems in the field of workplace design. It was this way of working that brought us into contact with Interface.”
HME Import Agency Showroom
Early this year, HME Import Agency (HME) moved to a new location. Under the name Manufactuur, HME Manufacturers joined forces with design manufacturer Leolux and 2.0 Architects. HME Import Agency is an importer of the world’s leading brands: Herman Miller, Colebrook Bosson Saunders and BOSS Design Group. The company – founded in 2003 – offers sustainable solutions for workplace design and delivers a wide range of high-quality furniture in continental Europe.
HME’s new location offers space for the office, the showroom and the warehouse. “The building where we are established, called Manufactuur, is a centre for inspiration, new ideas and crossovers. It’s about social interaction between our own people, between the other resident companies and between the partners that we work with. We wanted to create a place where people enjoy working, which encourages creativity and also serves as a showroom for our products”, says Linda Cupers, Marketing and Communication Manager at HME. “In order to learn from each other and to inspire others, we enjoy working together with parties who can think about creative and sustainable solutions to problems in the field of workplace design. It was this way of working that brought us into contact with Interface.”
Interface supplied carpet tiles for the various areas of the showroom. “The choice of carpet tiles was made straight away because of the appearance and acoustic functionality. We chose Interface because we saw tremendous overlap in terms of design and sustainability. The starting point for the design of the floor was the use of organic shapes, which in our eyes are symbols of movement, dynamism and infinity. For all other matters, the Concept Designer of Interface was given free reign. It was important that Interface had enough tools to use our showroom as a regional Interface showroom, showcasing not only the Urban Retreat collection as a true eye-catcher for the local market. Our products complement each other well. We serve the same markets and by working together and learning from each other’s expertise, we can complement each other’s strengths”, says Linda.
Thanks to the use of TacTiles, the flexible and adhesive-free installation system for carpet tiles, the floor was installed within two days. Linda says: “We were immediately enthusiastic about the result. Even our neighbours came to look at the floor and were very impressed with the Urban Retreat collection. They subsequently brought this collection to the attention of their customers: a perfect example of the collaboration that we encourage in Manufactuur. The acoustics have improved considerably in our area, which is especially noticeable in the conference room. Since our opening, we have welcomed over 4,000 guests to Manufactuur and the reactions have been very positive.”
